Warm, Wet Weekend

The amount of rain that’s headed for the Bay area may trigger some flooding. Our meteorologists from 10 Tampa Bay say we’ll be measuring the rainfall in inches with some of the heaviest heading just to the north. Keep the Dove app handy at 1055thedove to track the storms, and to watch what’s going on with our tropical forecast as well. That’s picked up quite a bit this week and to make sure you’re prepared for any severe weather, pick up some preparation and safety tips.

Officials at the University of South Florida have chosen the design and construction team of Barton Malow and Populous to submit designs for the new Bulls stadium. That could take up to a year and a half between the actual design being and budget approval. The Bulls currently play their games at Raymond James Stadium.

We most likely won’t see the launch of the Artemis rocket until October. A fuel leak once again has delayed the launch after if was canceled once last Monday, and the again by NASA this past Saturday. If you have a ticket, hang on to it. NASA will honor those tickets, and for more details please check the NASA site here.

There’s about to be a better way to get to the beach in Pinellas County. The SunRunner will launch next month, and will even have its own dedicated lane. Better yet, it’s free for the first month, then a one-day group pass for up to five people will cost $10, with kids 8 and younger able to ride for free. That’s cheaper than most beach parking lots and will come complete with charging ports in every seat. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will open their season on the road this Sunday in New Orleans with a 1 pm kickoff. The team has just named captains for the year which include Tom Brady. wide receiver Mike Evans on offense, plus Vita Vea and linebackers Lavonte David and Devin White on defense. Here’s the full season schedule, with the Bucs home opener at Raymond James Stadium in week three against Green Bay at 4:25 pm.
