What was Tropical Depression Seven Wednesday is now Tropical Storm Fiona, on a track for the Caribbean Islands. At Tuesday’s Tampa City Council meeting, council approved protection for city-owned and privately-owned cemeteries against future development. Those will include Jackson Heights Cemetery, Marti-Colon Cemetery, Oaklawn Cemetery and Woodlawn Cemetery which also covers Centro Asturiano. Archeological surveys are also planned gravesites that are confirmed, or are possible at a number of locations.
The Bucs are still on the road for week two against the New Orleans Saints. The last time they beat the Saints was in 2018, with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing four touchdowns. For Buc Jameis Winston will start at QB for the Saints against Tom Brady. Game time is 1 pm in Caesars Superdome.
NASA has adjusted the new launch date for the Artemis rocket with the window opening at 11:37 am on Tuesday, September 27th, with the backup launch date of October 2nd launch window opening at 6:47 am. A demonstration test is still scheduled for the 21st. Leaks scrubbed the first launch attempts at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Employees at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa are getting a raise. Some 1,500 employees who fall into the “non-tipped” category will be making from $18 to $21 per hour as announced Monday by Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming.
