Toddler dies after falling from 8th-floor apartment window in Washington, DC

WASHINGTON — A toddler is dead after he fell from a window in a Washington, D.C., apartment building, authorities said.

According to WUSA, the incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. at the Connecticut House Apartments in the city's Van Ness neighborhood. Investigators said a 2-year-old boy fell from the eighth floor of the building, WRC reported.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the news outlets.

D.C. police, who said a parent had been home when the boy fell, continue to investigate the case, WRC reported.
