The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is merging with the Sea to Shore Alliance.  The focus of the merger will be on

helping manatees that have had a rough year along with , sea turtles and North Atlantic right whales. The new name for the group will be the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Research Institute.

A new survey from WalletHub show Tampa as one of the most pet-friendly cities in the nation. They took the #6 and surprisingly St Petersburg was ranked much lower at #41. The survey looked at criteria that included pet health and wellness, pet budget and outdoor pet friendliness. Scottsdale, AZ took the top spot and Orlando came in at #2.

Tampa Electric and Duke Energy are in the process of installing "smart meters" as part of a new smart grid program. Those meters will let both companies know when power is out so you don't have to call. They could also save users money on their bills. All meters should be installed by 2022.
