Bucs Name New Head Coach

The Bucs made it official yesterday, naming Bruce Arians as their new head coach. Arians left the Arizona Cardinals back in 2017 and now becomes the 12th coach in Bucs history. Former Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter goes back to his old job back as offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons.

Beer and robocalls have something in common thanks to the government shut down - productivity. It's down for breweries that can't release new brews because the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) is shut down and they approve new the new brews and labeling. But robocalls are up with the FTC shut down and all complaints are shifted to their web site.

Gas prices in the Bay area are at a two year low. AAA reports the average price here is $2.01 per gallon for now. Come spring expect a significant increase.

The IRS says even with the government shutdown you can still file and get your tax refund. That news came out Monday from the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Flu season is in full swing and reported cases are on the rise across the Bay area. Doctors say it's not too late to get a flu shot, and to make sure you're taking precautions.

Red tide is back off the coast of Sarasota. The FWC's latest report showed high levels of the toxic algae off Lido and Siesta beaches. We have the latest map from the FWC here.

Interested in doing a little whale watching? It's a rare sight but humpback whales have been showing up off the Florida coast. The Marine Resources Council said they're getting calls every day of humpback sightings in Flagler and Volusia counties. The whales do migrate past Florida but aren't usually seen this often.
