In The “Spirit” With Ann-Ventures

I have everything from a free concert with the Florida Orchestra this Saturday night to classic horror movies to mazes and more in this new Ann-Venture.

Pops in the Park with the Florida Orchestra is such a gift. Think of sitting in Vinoy Park with a picnic dinner or just a nice glass of something cool, while you watch the sun set and the Florida Orchestra perform - and it’s completely free! Please bring those non-perishable goods for Tampa Bay Harvest’s annual food drive, and that’s for all parks concerts. I’’ll be there to introduce the show at 7:30 pm, and it’s always a good idea to come early and get a great seat. For additional information on this and more with the new season, please check here.

At the Tampa Theater, It’s the 10th Annual “Nightmare On Franklin Street” series to put on your calendar, beginning October 14th through the 31st. Classic flicks like Hocus Pocus, Psycho, and the ultimate toast-throwing sing-a-long The Rocky Horror Picture Show! There’s more including a special event with Stephen King’s Pet Sematary on October 2th, when one dollar from each ticket will go to the Humane Society. To make it an even cooler event, you’ll be able to meet and cuddle with kittens pre-show starting at 6 pm.

Gallagher’s is back on 4th St North in St Pete with plenty of pumpkins and even more cute farm animals to cuddle up with. And yes, they will make the transition to Christmas before too long and it gets crazy busy!

One of my very places to visit all year ‘round in Sweetfields, and their Fall Maze and Pumpkin Patch is so much fun. You might have stopped by for the sunflower maze which is just stunning, but now you can enjoy a big pumpkin patch, play in the hay and more. You’ll find Sweetfields at 17250 Benes Roush Rod in Brooksville. Check first since they will be open select days from Sep. 24-Nov. 6.

Seminole Heights Methodist Church Great Pumpkin Patch in Tampa has the reputation for having a very impressive pumpkin patch, so go see for yourself on Central Avenue in Tampa starting October 8th through the 30th.

And just across the Sunshine Skyway in Bradenton, Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival will kick off weekends Oct 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30. It’s a nice size area, so wear those comfy shoes when you pay them a visit at 5500 CR-675, Bradenton.

If you know of a Halloween event I should add, just let me know by sending me an email at Ann.Kelly@cmg.com. Send pictures if you have a few to share,

Now, let’s talk about this weekend, ‘cause it’s going to get loud and splashy in Clearwater with the Clearwater Offshore Nationals kicking off Friday, right off Clearwater Beach and Pier 60. To get a good look at the boats, you can do that for free on the beech, but if you want to get up on the Piers that will cost from $10-$20 (Pier 60). For more details take a look here.

The undefeated Tampa Bay Bucs home opener at Raymond James Stadium is Sunday with kickoff at 4:25 against the Green Bay Packers. For ticket info and more, take a look here.
