Resolve To Get Organized

I really didn’t need a resolution to know getting organized is something I needed to do. Lots of time at home made me look around and realize I didn’t need at that stuff. That, and knowing more than a few friends who hade to make a move in a hurry and quickly discovered just how overwhelming it all can be. I started with a neighborhood yard sale, making donations to charities and giving items away to those who could really use them the most.

Sounds so easy, right? But where or where do we start? I started with Certified Professional Organizer Jonda S. Beattie, co-author of the new book, Filled Up and Overflowing: What To Do When Life Events, Chronic Disorganization, And Hoarding Go Overboard. Jonda worked on TLC’s Buried Alive. Her co-author is Professional Organizer Diane N. Quintana, a member of the team on A&E’s Hoarders. Their website Release - Repurpose - Reorganize is filled with tips to help lighten up your life, make it healthier, happy and with purpose. The key to getting better organized? Hear it from Jonda.

Here’s to a happy, healthy New Year and a home that is much calmer. I’d love to know how you’re coping - and organizing - your home and live. Feel free to drop me a line at ann.kelly@cmg.com.
