Still Tabulating Ballots

Votes are still being counted in the race for the White House. As of Thursday night ballots were still being counted in Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, Alaska and North Carolina. Lawsuits have been filed in Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Georgia by the Trump campaign. Lawsuits were dismissed in Michigan and Georgia Thursday.

Can residents of long-term care facilities join their families for the holidays? They can under new state rules but must be screened, not tested, for symptoms before returning to the facilities. If a resident does have symptoms they must quarantine. Many groups are concerned over residents being allowed back in without testing.

Thursday’s COVID-19 numbers jumped by 6,257 new cases, taking the state total to 827,380. Florida resident deaths have reached 16,961.The Florida Department of Health also has the COVID-19 Call Center open 24/7 at 1-866-779-6121. You can also reach them by email at covid-19@flhealth.gov. Email responses will be sent during call center hours.

Forecasters will be tracking Eta this weekend, down to a tropical depression for now but is expected the strengthen today. Portions of south Florida could see up to six inches of rain. A portion of the Bay area is also in the cone. The cruise industry will not set sail again until 2021 The Cruise Lines International Association said member cruise lines made the voluntary decision to suspend trips until then, even though federal officials said they could begin cruises sooner after completing safety measures that include test cruises. Royal Caribbean may be accepting volunteer passengers for those test voyages but have not released any additional information.

The Bucs are on Sunday Night Football week with Antonio Brown playing his first game in over a year for the team. He’s actually staying with Tom Brady for now. The Bucs are now 6-2 on the year and will be home at Raymond James Stadium at 8:20 pm with limited attendance allowed.
