The Tampa Bay Lightning face possible elimination in the Stanley Cup Finals tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche lead the series 3-1, and can secure the title with a win tonight in Colorado in game five. If we go to a game six, that game would be back in Tampa at AMALIE Arena Sunday at 8 pm, and game seven in Colorado next Tuesday day at 8 pm.

It’s the grand finale weekend in St Petersburg for St Pete Pride. Tonight’s concert is from 4 pm-10 pm at Waterfront Park by the Pier; Saturday’s parade, the largest in the state, begins at 4 pm around the area of the St. Pete Waterfront by the Pier; “Pride In Grand Central” Street Carnival will be from 11 am to 5 pm Sunday in the Grand Central District. St. Pete Police Chief Anthony Holloway is promising a “all hands on deck” police presence for the weekend. For a full list of Pride events, check here.
The Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center is at 500% capacity for cats and kittens, and 130% for dog and puppies, and needs plenty of fosters and adopters to step forward this weekend. To encourage more people to come out, the Center will hold a a free adoption party from 10 am to 5 pm. Saturday, with all fees are waived. The center is at 440 N Falkenburg Road.

The largest Burmese Python ever caught in Florida was caught be a team of three trappers in the Picayune Strand State Forest to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. The female python weighed 215 pounds, was nearly 18 feet in length and had 122 eggs inside. The python is an invasive species in Florida, and to help keep the numbers down, registration for the 2022 Florida Python Challenge are now open. Click here to register for the August event.
Planning a summer road trip? Good news, finally. Gas prices are actually going down in Florida, bucking the national average of $4.98 a gallon according to AAA. As of this week, gas in Florida is at $4.81 per gallon, and just a week ago was $4.89. Diesel is still going at the highest price per gallon at $5.81.

A report from the Miami Herald says Florida is the only state that did not order the COVID-19 vaccine for children 5 and under. The FDA has approved both the 2-dose Moderna and 3-dose Pfizer vaccines for children under 5. State that did order the vaccine may have their doses ready to distribute this week.
