Toddler dies after possibly being dropped from moving vehicle along Arkansas freeway, police say

BENTON, Ark. — Police in Arkansas are investigating after a toddler died along a freeway in Saline County.

According to Arkansas State Police, troopers responded about 9 a.m. Tuesday to a report of what appeared to be a small child who “had been dropped from a moving vehicle” on Interstate 30 near mile marker 117. Although a caller believed the child might have been a doll, police arrived to find a toddler, KTHV reported.

“The child, believed to be approximately 2 years old, died after troopers were on the scene and awaiting emergency medical care to arrive,” state troopers said in a news release.

Authorities have not announced any arrests in connection with the case, which remains under investigation, according to KTHV. No further information was immediately available.
