Pennsylvania hospital patient steals ambulance, leads police on chase

DUBOIS, Pa. — A patient at a Pennsylvania hospital stole an ambulance from the medical facility on Sunday before leading police on a chase.

Sandy Township police said Matthew Wilsoncroft, who was under the influence, was at the hospital seeking treatment when he left in an ambulance, WTAJ reported.

He led police on a four-mile chase. Police used spike strips to eventually get the vehicle to stop. Wilsoncroft was then taken into custody. Charges have not yet been filed.

No one was injured. A police cruiser was damaged during the pursuit.
