Florida first lady Casey DeSantis diagnosed with breast cancer, Gov. Ron DeSantis says

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday announced that his wife, first lady Casey DeSantis, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

In a statement, the governor said his wife “is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up.”

“As the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as first lady,” he said. “As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state.”

The news was first reported Monday by Fox News, according to WJAX-TV.

A native of Troy, Ohio, and a former producer and Emmy award-winning television host for the PGA tour, Casey DeSantis married Ron DeSantis in 2010, according to Fox News. The couple has three children: 4-year-old Madison, 3-year-old Mason and 18-month-old Mamie.
