LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Coins dropped in wishing wells and fountains throughout Walt Disney World were donated to a central Florida homeless charity.
Disney donated $20,000 worth of coins that were collected, cleaned and sorted from the wishing well near Cinderella’s Castle, along the “It’s A Small World” waterways and various fountains throughout the park system.
“I am just so thankful, especially in light of everything that’s going on in the world and everything Disney is going through,” said Allison Krall, CEO of the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. “We needed this so very much.”
Disney has previously collected and donated coins from its fountains to the charity over the years. This year, the theme park’s chefs also cooked up a Thanksgiving feast for 650 homeless residents and guests.
