Record-Breaking Hurricane Season

With Subtropical Storm Theta out over the Atlantic, the 2020 Hurricane Season breaks the record for the most storms in one season with 29. This year has also seen the most storms make landfall with 12. Still Tropical Storm Eta continues to move into the Gulf of Mexico, already bringing some wind and rain from the outer bands into the Bay area. Another 3,924 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the state total to 847,821 with 17,179 Floridians dying from coronavirus. Email responses will be sent during call center hours.

Can residents of long-term care facilities join their families for the holidays? They can under new state rules but must be screened, not tested, for symptoms before returning to the facilities. If a resident does have symptoms they must quarantine. Many groups are concerned over residents being allowed back in without testing.

If you’re worried about porch pirates the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has a new program to keep those purchases safe. Operation Pinch-A-Grinch will allow you to ship packages right to HCSO district sites for pickup directly from deputies. The completely free program runs through December 21st, but will be closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

It was not a good Sunday for the Bucs, losing for the second time this season to the Saints 38-3. Tom Brady was intercepted three times while Drew Brees threw four touchdowns. That puts the Saints in first place. The Bucs will take on the Carolina Panthers Sunday at 1 pm on the road.
