Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry said de Silva, a former boyfriend of Reyes, used her ATM card illegally, according to ABC News.

Reyes was reported missing after being last seen on Jan. 29. Her body was found Feb. 5 about 12 miles north of her hometown of New Rochelle, New York, in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Reyes mother, Norma Sanchez, told WABC her daughter, “...Was just really scared, very frightened...fearing for her life.”

But Sanchez said it wasn’t anyone specific her daughter was afraid of.

“No one specific. She just mentioned, ‘I am really, really scared. I’m really paranoid, Mommy. I am getting anxiety attacks,’” Sanchez told WABC.

Police in Connecticut are trying to identify a woman whose body was found bound, stuffed inside a suitcase along a road.

Highway workers found the woman’s body in the luggage in the affluent town of Greenwich Tuesday morning, The Associated Press reported.

It was found in a wooded area, about 10 to 15 feet from a road, the Greenwich Time reported. It was found in a small depression near the road, out of sight of homes nearby, near an area where a car could pull off, the newspaper reported.

Police believe she was between the age of 18 and 30 years old and was killed someplace else before being left where the suitcase was found, the AP reported.

The woman’s hands and feet were tied, CNN reported.

Police have already received tips on her identity, Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry said during a news conference Tuesday afternoon, according to CNN.

“There was no doubt homicide was involved,” Berry said. “We do not know the manner or cause of death at this time.”

Police are interviewing people living near the crime scene and are looking for security camera video that could provide clues, the Greenwich Time reported.

She was found by a highway worker for the town who is now under investigation for taking photos of her body and sending them to acquaintances, WABC reported.

Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei confirmed the investigation into the worker to the Hartford Courant.

“It’s an egregious lack of judgement and sensitivity to the situation. That’s someone’s wife, daughter, sister. To have done something like that shows a disregard for the decedent and their loved ones. It really is unconscionable,” Tesei, who serves as police commissioner for the town, told the Courant.

Police have not released a cause of death.
