Lost Wages Program Cash Coming This Week

Governor Ron DeSantis said Tuesday any Floridian eligible for the $300 “lost wages” program should start to see that money this week. You do not have to apply for the additional three weeks of benefits that cover the weeks of August 1st, 8th and 15th. Only three weeks pay have been approved but the Department of Economic Opportunity could okay more.

AstaZeneca has put a Phase 3 trial testing the COVID-19 vaccine on hold pending a review. One trial participant allegedly had a severe reaction, so the trial has been paused. No word on when it might resume. COVID numbers in Florida for Tuesday were down slightly once again with 1,823 new cases, bringing the state total to 650,092. Florida resident deaths stand at 11,915. All parks at Walt Disney World have reduced operating hours. The Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom will all close one hour earlier, and Epcot will close two hours earlier. Animal Kingdom will also open an hour later.
