The Tampa Bay Lightning now fall behind the Colorado Avalanche three games to one after an overtime loss in AMALIE Arena last night. Nazem Kadri’s goal in overtime gave them a 3-2 win. and a 3-1 lead heading back to Colorado for game five on Friday. A must-win game six for the Bolts is scheduled for Sunday Tampa at 8 pm, and if necessary, game seven in Colorado next Tuesday day at 8 pm.
The St Pete Pride Parade returns to the streets of downtown St Pete this weekend, with the Streetfest Sunday. This weekend is the finale to Pride Month and will start Friday with a concert from 4 pm-10 pm at Waterfront Park by the Pier; Saturday’s parade begins at 4 pm will be around the area of the St. Pete Waterfront by the Pier; “Pride In Grand Central” Street Carnival will be from 11 am to 5 pm in the Grand Central District. A report from the Miami Herald says Florida is the only state that did not order the COVID-19 vaccine for children 5 and under. The FDA has approved both the 2-dose Moderna and 3-dose Pfizer vaccines for children under 5. State that did order the vaccine may have their doses ready to distribute this week.
Beachgoers in Ft. Myers had a lot of company in the water to kick off the weekend Friday. A “fever”, or group of about 100 stingrays were within feet of swimmers. No one was stung, but as the FWC reminds us, do the stingray shuffle and keep your feet moving slowly through the sand to keep the rays away.
Tampa Bay Buccaneer tight end and Tom Brady’s best buddy Rob Gronkowski say he’s retiring. But hold on. Gronk’s agent Drew Rosenhaus spoke to ESPN, and he said said if Tom Brady asked him to come back, Gronk might. A statement from Gronk said “the journey in Tampa over the last 2 years has blown away what I originally wrote about in college, big time.” Stay tuned.
Planning a summer road trip? Good news, finally. Gas prices are actually going down in Florida, bucking the national average of $4.98 a gallon according to AAA. As of this week, gas in Florida is at $4.81 per gallon, and just a week ago was $4.89. Diesel is still going at the highest price per gallon at $5.81.
