Historic Landing For NASA; Isaisa Moves Up East Coast

NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken are back from the International Space Station, landing offshore of Pensacola Sunday. This was the first time in 45 years for a splashdown, and the first manned fight for SpaceX. The next manned flight will be with NASA astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Megan McArthur, along with astronaust Akihiko Hoshide and ESA (European Space Agency) and Thomas PesquetJAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency).

Tropical Storm Isaias is getting stronger as it heads up the Florida coast and the National Hurricane Center expects to reach hurricane strength by the time is get to the Carolina’s. The east coast of Florida had plenty of tropical-storm force winds and heavy rain from the storm and some shelters were opened.

Florida is approaching the half-million mark for confirmed COVID-19 cases. After Sunday’s numbers added another 7,104 cases the total is now 487,132. Hillsborough County still leads with over 30,000 cases. For the latest information check with Dove Coronavirus site for the Florida Dashboard which is updated daily at 11 am, including the weekend. The statewide moratorium on housing eviction has been extended again. The new date is September 1st. Property owners who are not receiving their payments are now in the position of laying off staff and downsizing themselves. When the moratorium does end you are responsible for all back payments and can be evicted for non-payment.

Despite warnings not to plant seeds that have mysteriously arrived in the mail in all 50 states some have. A few didn’t realize what they had until they read stories about the seeds that appear to have come from China.
