The Baseball Hall of Fame class of 2019 includes the late Roy Halladay of Odessa who died in November of 2017 when he crashed his small plane into the Gulf offshore of New Port Richey. Also elected to the hall were the Yankees Mariano Rivera as the first unanimous choice, Mariners DH Edgar Martinez and Orioles/Yankees starter Mike Mussina.
Many local groups and businesses continue to offer assistance to government employees affected by the partial shutdown. Services like free hair cuts, food for pets, entertainment options and food pantry's have been set up. There's even help from utility companies.
It's taking longer to get through security at Tampa International Airport and at many of the nation's busiest airports and it could get worse. Some workers have called in sick during the government shutdown. Security at Tampa International Airport has not reported unusually long delays but there are concerns about reduced staff creating delays.
USF is blaming human error for over 400 hundred of acceptance emails being sent out to students by mistake. Those letters went out Saturday and the university confirmed that on Monday night. They apologized and are going to reach out to each student that may have received that email.
The Tampa Bay Bucs will play the Carolina Panthers in London sometime this year after the season schedule is officially released in the spring. The game will be played at either Wembley Stadium or Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
