The Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will open to the public this Saturday at Walt Disney World; Hollywood Studios will open next Wednesday, July 15th. You must have a reservation and a ticket to enter and expect a temperature check before you’re allowed to enter. All social distancing rules are in effected including wearing masks. Disney says there will be plenty of hand santizer stations and places to wash your hands on site.

St Petersburg Chief of Police Anthony Holloway said protestors who block traffic and emergency vehicles can be arrested and receive a $62.50 fine starting at the end of this week. Right now just warnings are being handed out.

The newest testing site in Pinellas County can handle up to 1,200 tests a day and is open to everyone, not just residents. The Mahaffey Theater will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 7 pm, with test results available in 2-3 days. The tests are free.

Hillsborough Schools Superintendent Addison Davis has made mask mandatory for both staff and students for the upcoming school year. There will be exceptions for anyone with medical or sensory issues. Three reusable masks will be given to students and staff on the first school on August 10th.

The chairman of the Hillsborough County Emergency Preparedness Group wants to dissolve the EPG. Les Miller is concerned over policies that are passed and enforced that the entire group does not agree with. It would be up to county commissioners to make the final call..

BayCare and HCA facilities are once again halting non-emergency procedures in order to keep more beds available for intensive care patients. Both Hillsborough and Pinellas county report under 20% of adult beds are available according to the Agency for Healthcare Administration.

A joint travel advisory continues for anyone from Florida heading to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. If you’re from one of the affected states with a “significant spread of COVID” you’ll have to quarantine for 14 days. The states are Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Utah and Texas.
