The cold, windy weather affecting most of Florida will keep the cold weather shelters open again tonight, and we have the full list from our meteorologists from 10 Tampa Bay Weather along with the weekend forecast. Wind chill advisories are up and well as freeze watches for some part of Tampa Bay, and this morning, and with Sunday mornings low predicted to be in the 40′s with 30′s possible in some areas with gusty winds, it’s going to be another cold night.
In Hillsborough County, Metropolitan Ministries will be providing 500 sandwiches and hot meals and are asking for donations of blankets, coats, hats, gloves, socks, etc. are at our main campus drop-off location at 2101 N. Florida Ave (behind our Bloom Again thrift store).
The Homeless Leadership Alliance is also helping at shelters in Pinellas County that include Tarpon Springs, Clearwater, Pinellas Park and St Petersburg. The are also asking for volunteer support, and you can make a monetary donation on their site.
Pasco County’s cold weather shelter will be open Saturday and Sunday at the Fasano Regional Hurricane Shelter, 11611 Denton Avenue, Hudson, FL. The shelter will open each evening at 6 p.m. and close the following morning at 10 a.m. Please remember, transportation and meals are not provided.
