The annual Gasparilla pirate invasion will happen, despite the rise in COVID-19 numbers. It will begin with the Children’s Parade this Saturday that returns after being canceled last year due to the pandemic. It’s an alcohol free event, with the parade will begin on Bayshore Boulevard between Bay to Bay and Edison. The forecast has a 30% chance of rain, with a high of 68 for Saturday. And remember to keep the beads out of the Bay!

The Bucs are back in action Sunday, taking on the Los Angeles Rams, the team they lost to in the 2021 playoffs. The Rams beat the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football 34-11, and now come to Raymond James Stadium for the Divisional Round playoff game Sunday at 3 pm. The winner of that game will face the winner of Saturday’s contest between the 49ers and the Packers for the NFC Championship Game.

It’s the first time in history they’re done so, with many centers down to just one days supply. The staff at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium said a final farewell to Winter the Dolphin last week. The famous dolphin with prosthetic tail passed away at the CMA last month, and her ashes were scattered in the Gulf of Mexico hursday. The staff was escorted out in the Gulf on the Coast Guard’s 45-foot response boat and included a C-130 flyover.
