Ocala Police Chief Greg Graham died in the crash of his small plane Sunday morning, not far from the Marion County Airport. The FAA is investigating the crash, and for now Ocala Deputy Chief Mike Balken will be interim police chief.

Governor Ron DeSantis said the state will now allow outdoor visits to long-term care facilities in Florida despite the rising COVID-19 numbers and higher positivity rates. Outdoor and indoor visits can continue as long as the facility does not have any new COVID-19 cases for two consecutive weeks.

The FDA has given approval for Remdesivir as a treatment for COVID-19 patients requiring hospitalization. The anti-viral drug is the first to get approval and is sold under the brand name Veklury. The drug is approved for patients who are at least 12 years old and weigh 88 pounds.
