Bars across Florida are allowed to reopen today at 50% capacity. Outdoor seating will also be allowed with social distancing. Bars have been closed for the past two months, having been shut down for a second time after some bars were caught ignoring the rules. Governor DeSantis is also considering loosening restriction on restaurants soon as well.
It was a full Sunday for sports in Tampa Bay with the Rays, Bucs and Lighting all in action. It was the first appearance for Tom Brady as the Bucs new QB. He was intercepted twice and the Bucs lost to the Saints 34-23. The Lightning won game four against the Islanders 3-1 and play again Tuesday. A win on Tuesday would send them to the Stanley Cup finals. And the first-place Rays lost to the last-place Red Sox 6-3.
Tropical Storm Sally is passing Bay area this morning and on its way to landfall somewhere on the Gulf coast as a hurricane. There are now seven tropical systems on map, three named with Paulette now a hurricane passing over Bermuda before heading out to sea. The official list of names for 2020 ends with Wilfred. After that the National Hurricane Center uses the Greek alphabet for only the second time in history. The last time was in 2005 that produced hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma.
