Another Tampa favorite is getting ready to reopen. The staff and residents couldn't be happier! ZooTampa at Lowry Park will open a little earlier than they first thought. Joseph Couceiro, who currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of ZooTampa at Lowry Park is among those ready to welcome back guests. We talked recently and he described the odd feeling of walking through an empty ZooTampa. The animals can feel the difference without the guest interaction but that will all change on Friday, May 29th.
The reopening plan is simple. Safe. Smart. Step-By-Step. You’ll notice the restrictions for social distancing and guests are encouraged to wear masks. If you forget yours they will be happy to give you one free of charge. The staff will be very visible and ready to answer any questions as well as direct you to the many hand sanitizer dispensers. By the way like many businesses the “touchless” transactions as in swipe the plastic, not pass the cash are also encouraged. ZooTampa will follow current Phase One restrictions and limit guest capacity to 50% You may find some favorite ZooTampa experiences limited as to the number of guests allowed at one time.
You can buy your tickets and make online reservations starting Monday, May 25th. If you do have questions or aren't quite clear on what is and isn't okay please check with ZooTampa before you head over. I'm happy to know we can once again talk to the animals at ZooTampa, and continue to support their good works. Enjoy my interview with Joe and to all at ZooTampa, welcome back. We've missed you.
