Shopping. Lots and lots of shopping. Let’s start with what you can actually save some cash on with the final weekend for tax-free back to school shopping. Here’s the list you can work from, and hey, it’s not just for the kids. There’s plenty to save on if you need a new computer. It’s good for what “ales” you. It’s the Bolts Brew Fest. The Tampa Bay Lightning’s fifth annual brew festival returns Friday with unlimited samples of craft beers from area breweries, games, photo ops and an appearance by ThunderBug. You’ll have to shell out from $50-$150. The fun begins at 8 p.m. Friday inside Amalie Arena.
Vintage Marche returns at 2200 2nd Avenue South Saint Petersburg for the monthly market that is an absolute dream for me! There’s a sneak preview of one of the best vintage markets Friday at 7 pm that will cost you; it’s open for general admission Saturday and Sunday. Time for me to grab my favorite shopping companion (otherwise knows on my little blue canvas wagon) and head over!
The 1982 Summer Movie Series at continues this weekend at the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, to celebrate the 40th anniversary these films:
-“An Officer and a Gentleman” (R, 124 minutes): A hot-tempered young man signs up for the Navy Aviation Officer Candidate School, where he learns how to better relate to people. 7 p.m. Friday.
-“Victor Victoria” (PG, 73 minutes): A down-on-his-luck British performer puts a new spin on his production in an attempt to gain employment. 7 p.m. Saturday.
-“Annie” (PG, 127 minutes): A New York City orphan is adopted by America’s richest man. 1 p.m. Sunday.
All shows are just $5, $30 for a four-pack (with four drinks and four popcorns) The Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre is located at 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater.
Remember, school buses are back on the road starting this Tuesday with the exception of Pinellas County Schools that will return Wednesday. Slow down in school zones, pay attention to crossing guards and send me those first day photos to Ann.kelly@cmg.com
