10 pounds!!! That’s the total to date since I made a life-long commitment to better health in Ann Kelly’s Kitchen. What’s working for me? Getting together with a registered dietician who helped me map out what will work for my metabolism and my medical challenges. So far so good! I just had a birthday, and realizing that the pounds don’t quite come off as easily as they did when I was much younger is just something to deal with. But the fact I’m eating healthier than ever and losing weight is all I want to see when I hop onto the scale in the morning.
I did have a few requests about overnight oats and the formula I use. It’s pretty simple, and you can make it your own like I do. But using organic rolled oats and almond milk as my base are the way I start. Use a formula of 1/2 cup of oats to one cup of milk, or whatever options you go with. I’ve used nonfat Greek yogurt along with the milk as well as cold coffee, keeping the liquid total to one cup. My favorite way to enjoy them is a Mocha Oats recipe I use that adds 1 tablespoon of cacao powder along with the coffee. Just put it all in a container, let it sit overnight and you have a very tasty treat. Go ahead and Google overnight oats and you’ll find a lot of great ideas. I use a mason jar to bring mine along to work - nice way to shake things up with no mess.
To answer another question, you can heat it up if you want. I prefer mine cold, though. And feel free to experiment away with other additions like fruit, nuts, different kind of nut milks like cashew - but make sure you love it! What good is healthy eating if you feel deprived? That never worked for me. But feel free to share what is working for you. I have friends using Noom with success, WW and others. Feel free to drop me a line at ann.kelly@cmg.com and let’s keep up the good work together!
