If these past few months have shown us anything, when those shelves were low, or even empty for essential needs we needed truckers more than ever. Dealing with the pandemic taught us a lot about human nature, as in who’s going to help you out when you’re truly in need. But if that supply chain comes to a sudden halt as it did we need the people behind the wheel more than ever.
I talked with my friends about The St Christopher’s Trucker’s Development Relief Fund before but this year is so very different. With the amount of furloughs and layoffs it’s been tough for everyone, even truckers. The Relief Fund helps those on the road every day with help on health, nutrition and fitness tips. The drivers can take advantage of a free vaccine program as well as” Rigs Without Cigs,” a smoking cessation program. A healthy driver can stay on the road and keep supporting their families. They also receive additional support from their friends at Southern Recipe where you can hear their stories and learn why life on the road can be pretty tough.
My thanks to Shannon Currier, Director of Philanthropy & Development for the St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund for letting me know important their work is and for taking the time to speak with me. Enjoy the conversation, and thank a trucker today for what they.
