Ready For Some Football? What To Know Before You Go

The Bucs will open the NFL season at home Thursday night at Raymond James Stadium and to say we’re ready is an understatement. We want to raise those flags, see some incredible plays and sweat in those Bucs jerseys in the Florida heat. But before you jump in the car to head over to Raymond James Stadium, here’s a few things you need to know. The game is a sellout, and that’s 65,000 people and no cutouts in the stands.

-You will definitely have to deal with additional traffic issues for the game with the addition of the “NFL Kickoff” experience at Julian B Lane Park in Tampa with a concert from Ed Sheeran, so it’s going to take some patience.. Watch for plenty of barricades, detour signs and law enforcement. Some closures are already in place from 6 am to midnight, Sept. 11th, and you can find additional information here.

-Coronavirus protocols. We already know that Tom Brady was diagnosed with COVID-19 after the the team’s Super Bowl Championship Boat Parade. Brady said he felt the year would be “challenging” with all games sold out to capacity at Raymond James Stadium. Masks are not mandatory but suggested at all games. The Bucs are now one of two teams in the NFL that say they are are 100% vaccinated between the staff and team members. But what about you? Here’s what the Bucs have to say. “Face coverings are recommended for everyone indoors (fans and staff) and should be worn at all times (other than while actively eating or drinking.) For those outdoors (including suites where windows open), masks are optional for those who are fully vaccinated and recommended if not fully vaccinated.” The temperature checks are a thing of the past, but it’s still a cashless system and no bags (other than what they regard as a clutch) are permitted. For a complete list of stadium policies, check with the team here

And yes, the Bucs are completely sold out for the season, so watch for people selling tickets outside the stadium. Don’t take a chance on being scammed, but those third-party tickets aren’t cheap. So fire up the grill at home, or at a tailgate party and LET’S GO BUCS!!!
