National Coffee Day

Tuesday, September 29th is officially National Coffee Day but as far as most fans of the bean believe, it’s every day. Why not! My introduction into the proper way to roast, brew and taste coffee was with Brendan Smith, the creator of the St Petersburg Craft Coffee Tour which has expanded to include Tampa. We went through downtown St Pete and were introduced to some fantastic places which change from tour to tour. Yes, the tours were on hold thank to COVID-19 but if you check the tour page you’ll find more than just tour info. Brendan has also a new venture with Batdorf and Bronson Coffee Roasters as the outreach and support manager in Florida and his tutorials are informative and fun. You can check Brendan’s page here and for more on the St Pete Coffee tour.

My friend and coffee enabler Ashley has also introduced to me to some very interesting places like “Coffee Shop of Horrors” that has two locations; one at 17415 7th St, Suite A in Montverde, and the second at 508 S. Duncan Drive in Tavares. Great coffee with a touch of fun for those who love a good horror flick with their brew. We actually were at both locations last weekend on one of my vacation Ann-Ventures to Mt. Dora. We were in the Tavares location when the Phase Three news broke and they were very happy to hear that.

It was on another Ann-Venture to that same area when we made the decision to check into a place in San Antonio called “A Cup of Organic” and met Douglas Torres, I’ll have an interview with Doug soon, but A Cup of Organic is more than a very interesting drive up location, it has a mission to give back. You can see in on the Facebook page - “When you purchase from A Cup of Organic, 10% of your total purchase goes back to the church, mission, or ministry of your choice. A Cup of Organic will also give back an additional 10% of its total profits to support missions of its choice.”

So tell me where your favorite brews are to be found so I can show them a little love as well. Decaf or high-test, it’s all good in Ann Kelly’s Kitchen
