Hurricane Nana and Tropical Storm Omar were no threat to the Bay area, but two more waves are now being tracked. The Tampa Bay Lightning will have to wait another day to see who they will play for the Eastern Conference title. The Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders take it to a seventh game Saturday night at 7:30 pm.

Starting Tuesday, parks at Walt Disney World will reduce operating hours. The Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom will all close one hour earlier, and Epcot will close two hours earlier. Animal Kingdom will also open an hour later.

It’s official. Thanks to COVID-19 concerns there will be no fans in the stands for the first two home games for the Tampa Bay Bucs. Season tickets holders got the word yesterday. It will be the same for their first away game against the Saints Sept. 13th. When will Bucs fans get to see Tom Brady throw a pass in person? Possibly not until October. Miami is allowing up to 13,000 fans for their home opener.

The U.S. Center for Disease Control has told all fifty states there may be COVID-19 vaccine available for use as early as November. The vaccine dosage will be dispensed by two doses separated by 21 or 28 days for immunity, and second-dose reminders will be sent to patients if necessary. For now, state officials in Florida say there are working with the CDC on a pilot program for the vaccine.

State officials fired Quest Laboratories Tuesday after a data dump on Monday showed over 75,000 test results that had been held back. Some of those tests results dated back as far as two months. The five county-run test sites in Hillsborough county that have a separate contract with Quest are still using the lab. Thursday, the Florida Dashboard showed 3,571 positive test results taking the state total to 637,013. 11,650 Floridians have lost their live to the virus. The Florida Department of Health also has the COVID-19 Call Center open 24/7 at 1-866-779-6121. You can also reach them by email at covid-19@flhealth.gov. Nursing home and assisted living facilities will allow visitors for the first time in six months soon. Governor Ron DeSantis announced the new order Tuesday with restrictions that include visits by appointment only, temperature checks and wearing of PPE. There will be an additional screening when you visit, and no minors will be allowed.
