They call them the “Louisiana Saints.” All the groups, individuals, the Cajun Navy, everyone who has come forward to do whatever they can after Hurricane Ida decimated parts of Louisiana. They didn’t wait for someone else to do the job, they saw a need and continue to meet it everyday. One of those is the World Central Kitchen led by Chef Jose Andres who has stepped forward once again.
This isn’t his first time. The World Central Kitchen has been there after the earthquake in Haiti, providing meals for Afghan refugees with food and relief. As soon as it was safe, the WCK was on the scene in New Orleans with thousands of hot meals for residents who may have lost everything. The bring everything with them from generators to keep their refrigerators operational, plenty of food, and most of all, hope. You can imagine how much they appreciate the meal, and the loving support.
There are many way to show the love we may someday need ourselves right here. You can follow the work of the World Central Kitchen on Twitter and Facebook and Instagram, and Chef Jose Andres here. To see the list of others that need donations, please check with us here. And thank you.
