If you've finally taken the plunge to go out to dinner instead of ordering takeout again, there's a good chance it was a slightly new experience. We're used to the social distancing rules, how many patrons can sit inside versus outside and even a limit on how long you can sit and dine. After all, fewer tables means a lower turnover But there may be new fees on your check as well.
Those fees are showing up to cover the additional costs the restaurants are incurring such as a personal protective equipment tax and even imposing a cancellation fee if you don't show up. That's something some medical offices have been for quite some time, isn't it? The point is with fewer tables they need to make up the loss somewhere and it's landing on checks. One restaurant owner in Massachusetts explained why he's doing all of that and how it's working out.
Then there's a restaurant in New Port Richey that's made the news after they declared themselves a safe have for law enforcement. The Local Fresh Grill in New Port Richey already offered a 10% discount but now they've put out a statement letting them know the restaurant has their back and they are always welcome. But they do not stop with law enforcement, they offer anyone a safe place who feels they need it. The Local Fresh Grill is located at 5729 RIchey Dr Port Richey, In front of Walmart at US 19 and Ridge Rd.
My newest experience in Ann Kelly's Kitchen was ordering groceries. No, not lazy! Had to stay at home and realized I was pretty low on fresh items like fruits and veggies and just wanted a few good ready-made meals. Since I've a big fan of Sprouts I decided to give them a try and was extremely pleased with how easy it was. Their app lets you create a shopping list, adds it all up for you and you decide what kind of tip you'd like to give. It was actually free for first-timers like me. I fully expected it to take a couple hours since it was a Saturday afternoon, but all it took was 45 minutes. Very impressive and since I also requested contact-free delivery that was honored as well. Will I make a habit of it? Only if necessary because I like shopping there. But if it's a matter of personal safety for me and others, I most definitely would. Their deliveries are done through Instacart.
One thing that will never change is being safe while you're shopping, having food delivered and keeping all of that clean. Never a bad time to remind us all of what steps to take after we bring any if that into the house and proper cleaning methods. Plus side here is my kitchen has never been cleaner, I waste less food and the recycling bin is full each week. It's a different world and showing kindness matters now more than ever. Tell me how are things at your favorite place, and have you noticed others who go above and beyond? Feel free to share that with me in Ann Kelly's Kitchen firstname.lastname@example.org.
