The markets are starting to make their return. The St Petersburg Saturday Morning Market has offically reopened in Williams Park. The most important thing to know is if you do not wear a mask marketplace rules are vendors cannot sell anything to you. You can buy a mask when you enter for $3. To get in go to the southeast corner of the park and and then leave from the the northeast corner.
Dunedin has also restarted their Downtown Market today (Saturday, July 11th) in a new location in the parking lot next to the History Museum downtown from 9am - 1pm. Vendors will wear masks and you’re asked to do the same. Both of the markets I’ve mentioned will also have plenty of hand sanitizing stations.
It’s kind of after the fact for us here in Tampa Bay but as of July 15th, Starbucks will make it a requirement for all customers and employees to wear masks. Did you forget your mask - again? Starbucks will graciously allow you to order at the drive thru, to go orders or home delivery.
Tampa may have avoided the chopping block for now, but the owners of Sur Le Table are about to close 51 of their 121 stores and file for bankruptcy. COVID-19 is blamed for the closings. The Florida locations being closed for now are in Palm Beach at Downtown at the Gardens and in Pembroke Pines in the Shops at Pembroke Gardens.
Why not start talking Halloween? Hershey’s is. Their Halloween candy lineup has been released and includes Reese’s Franken-Cup Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kat Witch’s Brew, Hershey’s Vampire Milk Chocolate Kisses and Hershey’s Cookies’N’ Crème Fangs.
And finally, it’s an annual tradition for those who dare to wear their jammies in public. The 47th Annual Sunrise Sale is this Thursday, July 16th with special COVID-19 precautions. I’ve already heard from Paul Bailey at Savory Spice who’s having a special sale - definitely stop in for the best selections of fresh spices I’ve every enjoyed in my own kitchen and for gifts. The Downtown Business Association of St Petersburg hosts each year and they have it down to an exact science. It begins at 6:43 am at sunrise. Oh, and for this year a mask contest! Check their Facebook page for more info here and enjoy supporting local businesses.
