BANDA ACEH, Indonesia (AP) - An 8.6-magnitude earthquake has triggered panic in the streets of Indonesia and put countries all around the Indian Ocean on alert for a tsunami. So far there's been no sign of the feared wave, but a powerful aftershock has prompted Indonesia officials to issue a new tsunami warning. The initial quake was centered about 270 miles from Indonesia's Aceh (AH'-cheh) province, which was devastated by a tsunami in 2004.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The head of the Republican Governors Association says Rick Santorum's withdrawal from the GOP presidential race should signal party conservatives to unify behind Mitt Romney. Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell tells "CBS This Morning" that Republicans should now focus on what he calls "the big prize" -- winning the presidency.

PYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) - North Korea has fueled a rocket in preparation for what appears to be an imminent liftoff. Space officials call it a "gift" to the communist country's late founder Kim Il Sung, marking the 100th anniversary his birth. The U.S., Japan, Britain and others warn the launch would violate U.N. Security Council resolutions banning North Korea from developing its nuclear and missile programs.

JUBA, South Sudan (AP) - Battles are raging along the disputed border region between Sudan and South Sudan. Officials from both countries confirm the fighting, and an official from South Sudan says it's spreading. The two sides fought a civil war that lasted for decades, and hostilities have been flaring in recent months with no agreement on how to share the region's oil.

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) - The attorneys who had been representing the man who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin say being in hiding may have pushed George Zimmerman "a little bit over the edge." They say he's stopped returning phone calls, texts or emails, so they've dropped him as a client. They say Zimmerman -- against their advice -- contacted the special prosecutor who will decide if he should face charges.

MIAMI (AP) - Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen's comments in admiration of Fidel Castro caused a bigger uproar than if the Miami team had spent the entire baseball season in last place. Politicians and exiles decried the Venezuelan's remarks and he issued a tearful, public apology. Guillen has been suspended for five games.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida serial killer David Gore is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to block his impending execution. Gore's lawyers asked for a stay and filed an appeal on Tuesday. He is set for execution by lethal injection Thursday for murdering 17-year-old Lynn Elliot in Indian River County nearly 30 years ago.
