TOKYO (AP) - Questions are being raised about Japan's commitment
to bolstering oversight after last year's nuclear crisis. Tokyo has
failed to create a revamped nuclear regulatory agency by the
promised date - April 1 - amid political infighting. Authorities
have been accused of lax supervision of Japan's 54 nuclear reactors
after a massive earthquake and tsunami.
WASHINGTON (AP) - Researchers say the latest analysis of airline
performance is gaining altitude. Passenger opinion has improved in

service and getting bumped from full planes.
ISLAMABAD (AP) - The lawyer for Osama bin Laden's family says
his three widows and two of his daughters face another two weeks in
prison after being convicted on charges of illegally living in
Pakistan. They were sentenced to 45 days in prison, but got credit
for time served. They'll then be deported.
BRUSSELS (AP) - There's more evidence of recession in the 17
nations using the common euro currency. Official figures show
Eurozone unemployment rose to its highest level since the currency

earlier today also indicate a downturn in manufacturing.

MIAMI (AP) - Political leaders, sport stars, entertainers and
several thousand people have taken part in a rally in Miami to

Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February.
WEEKI WACHEE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a 29-year-old
Gainesville man drowned during a dive at the Weeki Wachee Springs
State Park. Authorities say Marson Ashly Kay became disoriented

small for him to swim through.
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two Tampa Bay-area
men are in custody after firing at sheriff's deputies in separate
incidents.
In New Port Richey, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office says a
heavily armed man fled to a neighbor's house early Monday after
deputies showed up at his home.
The sheriff's office says the man shot at deputies clearing the
neighbor's house but then surrendered after they returned fire.
No one was injured.
In Dade City, the sheriff's office says deputies shot a man who
pointed a gun at city police officers late Sunday.
The sheriff's office says the man had barricaded himself inside
a home and had a history of threatening his family with guns. The
man's condition was not immediately clear.
