What’s your definition of comfort food? In Kelly’s Kitchen we think it’s the caloric equivalent of a hug. It’s something that makes you feel good, brings back a great memory, and helps shake off whatever the day made you slump in your chair and work and wish for the day to end. That’s comfort food! Thanks for all your suggestions, but it was the first one from Richard Heacock on Facebook that caught my eye. Mac and Cheese!  But why stop at the stuff in the blue box? Take a look at this video for a truly decadent delight complete with crab.

   Then there’s chili, and wouldn’t love a bowl of red with cornbread on the side on a cool evening? I love the aroma of that pot on the stove, and the bread in the oven. Simple is just the best for chili. But you know how we love to tweak recipes and compete for the best, so don’t forget our upcoming Chili Cook-Off with the Second Time Arounders at Ferg’s on Saturday, Feb. 2^nd.

   But of course with it being cold and flu season which makes us all want our Mamma,  this one really caught my eye for something comforting and a little outside of the box for those suffering. Flu Sorbet, anyone?! This comes from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams out of Ohio. Jeni runs a bunch of ice cream trucks in Manhattan, and when it’s as cold as it is up there right now, this really fits the bill for something soothing when you're feeling crummy.
