First, thanks to all who entered with the warmest autumn memories for a chance to win a treat from the Kelly’s Kitchen Collection. Congratulations to Nick Fabiano, who sent us this wonderful note:

Hi Ann,

Your blog on Autumn brought back memories of my childhood in Kenosha,WI! My parents had a big garden with a variety of everything FRESH and DELICIOUS!; peppers, beans, salads, herbs, onions and much more. In the Autumn, my mother would 'can' her home grown tomatoes (including making tomato sauce) and plums and pears that were picked right from our back yard trees! Later,it was just wonderful tasting the fruit in the deep cold of Wisconsin winters. My Uncle even had a big fig tree and had to bury the tree for the winter in the ground. My Father and Uncles would make homemade wines in their basements. I have a picnic table here in Tampa with grape vines all around it just for memories mostly ,like our family had at home. Their's definitely had more big bunches of  hanging grapes in deep purple and gold which was a gathering place for family and company everyday.

Nick chose Alton Brown’s Good Eats 3 as his prize. We’ll have another chance for you to win a great cookbook from The Kelly’s Kitchen Collection soon. Thanks again, and enjoy your own autumn memories.
