A little of this, a little of that...and we have Five Fun Things for September!

1. When Mommy and Daddy find themselves a little on edge at the end of a long day in the Magic Kingdom, and all they crave is a cool, adult beverage...Mickey says okay! It only took 41 years, but for the first time, beer and wine only, and only at dinner, will be offered at the Be Our Guest Restaurant in the new Fantasyland that is scheduled for to open in November. And no, there’s no BYOB. Fairy dust optional.

2. Trader Joe’s has finally opened in Sarasota, so all you Two-Buck-Chuck fans can head on down to 4101 South Tamiami Trail, about five miles off 75. Sure beats that trip to Naples I made one Sunday. Now, how about one a LOT closer?

3. Football. Lots and lots of football. And tailgating! Southern Living Magazine knows a good party, and the also know when it comes to the most spirited schools the University of Florida is on top, especially when it involves the game with the Gators and Georgia, which has earned the esteemed title of "The Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party."

4. I’ve learned that one of my coworkers has outdone Paula Deen, and that took a little work when she took Paula’s recipe for a Hash Brown casserole and added even more butter, cream instead of milk and doubled up on a few other items to the extreme delight of the staff at our monthly breakfast. No. We did share this with them.

5. I’ve also discovered on what was supposed to be a quick trip through the drive-through at Mickey D’s that the simple vanilla cone now comes dipped in chocolate. So much for the iced tea.
