Five Fun Links for May

And that got past the security settings? photo
Wow...never thought that one would make it past the security settings....

You all are so helpful. And enabling. I get sent links from listeners, friends, family that all believe it’s the next big thing. Usually it’s the next pound gaining thing! But to start the merry month of May, here’s five fun links to start you off and yes, pass along!

1. This one come from shortlist.com and shares the world’s ten craziest pizzas. And that alone is a singular understatement. Try the Conizza, which is literally pizza in a cone; the Royal Wedding pizza (enough said) and the TMNT pizza which looks darn gross. But check them out, and if you’ve come up with something equally or even more over the top than these ten, pass them along and we want pictures, please! Thanks for the link, Len.

2. The Mother Nature Network (a new one for me) tells us about the newest trend in weddings - Food Trucks. Who needs a sit down dinner with candlelight and china when you can have the equivalent of Taco Bus for your guest?! It’s described an innovative, creative and a less expensive way to present your guest with a mobile buffet of sorts. Okay, fess us, Anyone thought of doing this yet? And again...pictures please.

3. This next one has a local flair, and I found it scanning the TBO.com Extra last week. How about a restaurant that uses an iPad as their menu? The Caramel Café and Wine Bars do just that, and are scheduled for a South Tampa location this summer, with Chris Sullivan of Outback fame doing the honors. This will be their third, with the first opening in Clearwater a few years ago, Carrollwoods opened last September, and another is planned for Sarasota. Let me know if you’re tried if and what you think.

4. This was just the one thing I did not need to see so close to lunch from The Daily Beast. The fifteen most fattening sandwiches, and you might just cringe and head for the gym at a sprint when you take a look at these evil, delectable delights. The Heart Attack Grill in Vegas is (in)famous for having one patron exit on a gurney after attempting more than a nibble on the 10,000 calorie Quadruple Bypass Burger. And unfortunately just last week, a second diner collapsed. Maybe we'd better pass this one by.

5. And then there’s this from The Food Network; an interactive cookbook and it’s all about cupcakes. Check out the iPad app that features favorites from Food Recipes stars. It’s a $2.99 how to that looks nice, is easy to follow and a bargain.

Links, links, apps, apps and more apps. Tell me what’s on your iPad and what you use the most. We’ll choose one entry for a special gift from Kelly’s Kitchen. All your comments, suggestions, recipe and just plain pretty food pics and videos go to ann.kelly@coxmg.com who always has time for just one...more...link.
