It’s not everyone who wants to take on the impossible for a living. But for The Food Network's Chef Robert Irvine, it’s something he does with a passion, and has for more than 25 years. Kelly’s Kitchen was lucky enough to have a few minutes with Chef Irvine to talk about his upcoming “Dinner Impossible” show at the Capitol Theater in downtown Clearwater Friday, April 13th. You have a special opportunity to win tickets to see Chef Robert Irvine in “Dinner: Impossible Live,” including a pre-show cooking seminar on our contest page all this week! Just click here for all the information, and I’ll see you there. It’s going to be a fun, very interactive experience, and I plan on taking a lot of notes. I've been told there will be a lot of tweeting going on from onstage so be ready for that. Since the Chef himself is not without controversy, I'm very interested in the questions you'll have for him.

So, what is it really like on the set of some of Chef Irvine’s shows? We talked about a recent episode of “Restaurant Impossible” that would make anything think twice about where they dine. I saw the episode on the Food Network not too long ago…and it was bad! Restaurant Impossible takes place over two days, with$10,000 to take a restaurant from the worst to a place we’d all be happy to dine in. But it’s not always the case, and that’s what makes the show intriguing. Again, it’s all about overcoming the impossible. We see so many of the restaurants on the show make it, but not all do. It’s a tough industry in this economy, and let’s face it; we’re getting quite picky about where we spend our hard earned cash. It’s tough to give a place a second chance if the first one was so bad. Some good news though from Chef Irvine, he’s thinking of expanding his restaurant empire in Florida, so stay tuned for more information.

It’s not hard to miss how fit the Chef is as well (try Googling his image…wow!). But it’s a healthy lifestyle that makes the difference. We did have a chance to talk about his solid support of our military; he was in the British Royal Navy himself at 15. Chef Irvine has also lent his support to causes such as autism.  It’s going to be a fun show, and we’d love to have you along for a great experience. Log on now and register to win!
