New Week, New Cookoff

Dunedin Blue jays
Chili Time!

Baseball and chili. I can live with that! Kelly’s Kitchen has heard from the Dunedin Blue Jays, who will be hosting the first ever Chili Cook-Off in team history this Sunday, and you are invited to enter alongside their restaurant participants. Here’s how it works; votes will be tallied for “Best Chili” in both the restaurant and individual divisions, and all it takes to register is a $35 donation to the RCS Food Bank of Clearwater. This is one of the organizations that I am on the Board for, and they’re fantastic. The new Food Bank building works so hard, and donations are always needed. The game between the Dunedin Blue Jays and Bradenton Marauders will begin at 5pm, and the chili tasting will begin when the gates open at 4 pm.  Tickets to attend the game are just $10, and that includes a bowl and a spoon to sample all the Chili!  Tickets can be purchased in advance at dunedinbluejays.com, or on the day of the event at the Box Office at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. For more information on the event or to register, please contact Mike Liberatore at 727-733-9302. Send those photos and recipes to ann.kelly@coxinc.com.

This is just not a good idea. I’m not convinced that vending machine pizza has a future, but these guys do. There’s a company called Pizza Marketplace that says they have a machine that makes a pie, from scratch, in less than 3 minutes. They say they have more than 200 toppings and the machine can even accommodate dietary restrictions. How does it pop out of the machine? In an in an insulated take-away box. For a 10-inch pizza you’ll shell our $5.95. If you happen to see one of those, let me know. I’ll always try something once…and that might be enough for this!

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM KELLYS KITCHEN
