Welcome  to what they say is the wettest June on record since 2008. But I don't think I really needed to tell you that now, did I?! Since I've already clued you in on a lot of weekend events, be bold...go for it! Of course it's always a good idea to call ahead. We've seen some graduations postponed, but I'm guessing all that food you've ordered to the parties will still be there and ready to enjoy. I have one suggestion if you find yourself in need of something cool and just so downright delicious and decadent, you'll be back again and again. I went out to lunch Thursday with some coworkers along Beach Drive in downtown St Pete, and stopped in to Paciugo Gelato and Caffe' and will be back many times. We''ll take the Kelly's Kitchen Cam in for a look around soon, but for this cool treat that can be under 200 calories for a generous small serving, it's well worth the trip. I had an amaxing combination of a dark chocolate milk-based gelati with another scoop of coconut; hello Almond Joy! The staff is friendly, and the freshly made gelati, sorbetti, soy-based gelati and no sugar-added gelati look as good as they taste. Stop in this weekend and make sure to go early. They had some cinammon rolls in the bakery case that had me craving breakfast, even though I'd just finished lunch. The Largo Open Air Market is scheduled for Saturday morning at the Largo Community Center with a lot to discover in addition to great food and fresh produce; jewelry, health and beauty products and it's completely free, of course. And if your kitchen herb garden needs a little freshening up, don’t forget to stop in at the Butterfly, Herb and Native Plant Fair at USF this weekend. $5 entry fee at the USF Botanical Gardens. Tarpon Springs won’t be left out of the fun, with the Wine Walk on Saturday along the Sponge Docks starting at 4 pm.  This is their first event, and since it’s such a fun walk along Dodecanese Boulevard to begin with, just  adds wine and hors d’oeuvres and we’ve got a party going on! I'm heading down with some friends, and if it rains, who cares. We'll just duck inside for gyros.

If your group or organization has a tasty event in the works, why not let me know about it and I’ll be happy to share it with everyone. Just send all the details to ann.kelly@coxmg.com.
