Just this morning yet another coworker asked me about the rumored opening of Trader Joe’s in Sarasota. That’s no rumor. That’s fact. According to their web site, Trader Joe’s will open at 4101 South Tamiami Trail on September 7^th. So of course, that means road trip for a whole lot of us, but not as long as the last time I went to Trader Joe’s in Naples! Check out just where and when you can stop in. Yes…shotgun!

   There’s also rumors of new life for BayWalk according to Katherine Snow of the Tampa Bay Times; a planned press conference for the 16^th might announce new additions such as restaurants from celeb chefs from the Food Network are possible. Names dropped include Zakarian’s Steak House and Morimoto.

   It’s a great weekend also for those who enjoy a cool brew with Wazoo at the Lowery Park Zoo Saturday night to benefit zoo programs. Online ticket sales stop Friday, and if there are tickets still available, you’ll be able to score those at the door Saturday night.

   And an equally delicious way to wind up the weekend would be to start your Sunday in Hyde Park Village at the Fresh Market.
