The New Floor photo
The guys from Ceramic Creations said every time I looked at the floor I was smiling, and how could I not?! That tile is so beautiful, and the edge cap Eileen, my designer from Floor and Decor suggested is just the perfect touch leading into the family room

"Neatniks" will get this one. How can one person have so many plastic storage containers? And why are some one-third of those useless; you know, missing the lid, or the container...and we still hang on to it, because hey, we might need it someday! Ann Kelly trying oh so hard to let go of the ones that are totally useless, and thanks to my friend Laura’s heads-up, contacting Tupperware and Rubbermaid to see if I'm eligible for replacement freebies under their warranty programs. I like that!

It’s all part of the process when you’re working on your kitchen, and the process continues in Kelly’s Kitchen. I made myself a promise that I would a) reorganize the kitchen so I could actually find what I need, and b) and let go of that which should have been let go a long time ago. So on day two, I sat down in the one clear space in the family room (behind the stove) and actually went through four boxes of my storage containers and actually cleared out a lot of stuff. Now, can I keep that promise to keep them organized? I’ll give it my best shot...promise!

We’re moving right along on the work; the floor is grouted, the stove and fridge are in their proper places, and the island is back and secure. Who knew it could move? Guess I never banged into hard enough! There's a one day hold on the granite countertops, so that will happen Thursday first thing in the morning. The kitchen already looks completely different thanks to Floor and Decor, and their great installers from Ceramic Creations, Inc. Tim, Scott and Gary will be back Thursday to do the backsplash in the afternoon after they wrap up the counters.

Ever wonder what the best projects are in your home when it comes to a remodel? The kitchen is one of the top for the best return on your investment, so yes, it’s money well spent. It’s also the one putting the biggest smile on my face right now. I’d love to see what you’ve done with your kitchen; have a cool little project that’s brightened things up, or great storage solutions? Send me pictures, video and your handy tips that might help me out in Kelly’s Kitchen to ann.kelly@coxmg.com. And of course, check in with Floor and Decor for free advice from their decorating pros for your projects. There’s a designer in each location to help you get the best return on your investment!
