Rays, Peeps, and Vacation!

Ya gotta have friends!
Ya gotta have friends!

I’m not too sure that either one of my dear darling departed grandmothers would have approved, but this year my Easter dinner was not the traditional roast lamb…more like a slaw dog and Carvel Ice Cream at The Trop.  Ann Kelly is officially on vacation, and I was lucky enough to score a ticket to Sunday’s Rays/Yankees game, which was the sweet completion of a three game sweep! Say hello to my coworker Simone, Peter King , Lisa Myers and yours truly proudly wearing my Rays Jersey, and just enjoying a beautiful Sunday aftenoon. Totally necessary, since Kelly’s Kitchen will be officially closed to start the renovation process with Floor and Décor. I'll have lots of photos for you this week. Fresh and new is such a good thing. But in case you have the usual overload of Peeps and would like to try a new recipe, check this one out for Brownie Peeps S'mores. Not a lot of work, but a lot of fun for the kids. Tell me what you're doing with leftover candy, besides hiding it from the kids....pass those cool recipes along to me at ann.kelly@coxmg.com.

Feeling a little creative yourself? Here’s a challenge that’s better than a game of Trivial Pursuit. Everyone enjoys a song parody – even the bad ones! We’re giving listeners a chance to get creative by coming up with a parody song title (or quote) using that most versatile of varietals: Riesling. It’s not as difficult as it sounds – some examples: “Riesling with Me,” “Give Me a Riesling to Love You,” “Don’t Fear the Riesling.” Go to mymagic949.com and send in your best song title using the word “Riesling” and you could win a $50 American Express Gift Card provided by Chateau Ste. Michelle Woodinville, Washington. Riesling is known as the best food wine in the world and Chateau Ste. Michelle invites you to try three styles of their Riesling. The Harvest Select Sweet Riesling is great with spicy foods. Columbia Valley Riesling is crisp and refreshing for any occasion. And Dry Riesling is great with seafood. Stop by your local market and choose your Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling style today. Chateau Ste. Michelle invites you to try three styles of their Riesling – Harvest Select Sweet Riesling, Columbia Valley Riesling and Dry Riesling on April 14th at the Ybor Aficionado Days After Party. Hey, I’m on vacation…I should go!
