Happy Thanksgiving from Kelly’s Kitchen and our congratulations to the winner of the 75th Anniversary set of the three piece Fiesta Dinnerware in Marigold, and the Fiesta 5 piece flatware set in Scarlet. Jennifer’s entry was unique – anyone else for camping for Thanksgiving? Here it is!
“One of my favorite memories from Thanksgiving...well it is hard to pick just one. My birthday is around Thanksgiving, so it is always so wonderful to be able to share with extended family. We will sometimes have a Thanksgiving camping trip which is so fun. We eat our dinner (a fun experience to cook while camping), then afterwards warm up around a fire. When it gets too chilly to stay outside, we head into the parents RV to play board games as a family. It is always a great time! This is the one holiday where everyone can gather around the table and relax and talk, and then play games. All the other holidays seem so hurried. This is why I love Thanksgiving!!”
I have to say one of my favorite memories is something so simple, but it’s been a part of the family tradition for so long it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving, or Christmas, for that matter if it wasn’t there. This comes out of that wonderful tin recipe box my Mom has entrusted to my care with all the handwritten 3 x 5 cards with all the family recipes. It’s a simple recipe for Stuffed Celery, but what made it special was that nice little crystal dish it was served on. I may not be with the family in Ohio for Thanksgiving, but I will be home for Christmas, and I’m counting on that!
