A question for you all today in Kelly’s Kitchen; have we forgotten Thanksgiving? It does seem like we jumped from Halloween to Christmas in one fell swoop about a month ago. The leftover Halloween candy went to the half-off aisle even before the kids had collected their candy, and the Christmas decorations appeared as if Santa’s elves were in charge of restocking...literally! Personally, I think Thanksgiving is on of the great underrated holidays; Christmas is wonderful, but can be a little crazy. At least at Thanksgiving, we take the time to slow down a bit, renew some cherished family traditions and enjoy a fantastic meal. And yes, there’s football! But that holiday table...the beautiful linens, the family china, and the very special touches that only you could bring to the party. I love a touch of color on a table, and Fiesta has always had some beautiful colors that make even the most mundane of meals a feast. I have friends that have collected Fiesta for years. Fiesta was introduced to the general public in 1936 in the five original colors of red, yellow, cobalt blue and ivory. Over the years, colors, shapes and the types of pieces of produced have changed. But the for the Fiesta collector, it’s the hunt for those hard to find colors and pieces that just so much fun. And just slightly competive! Fiesta Dinnerware is found in the Smithsonian, and the Andy Warhol Museum, and is considered to be the most collected china in the United States. And yes, it is American made.

Today, the Homer Laughlin China Company, manufacturer of Fiesta introduces a new color every year, and for their 75^th Anniversary, it's Marigold. Here in Kelly’s Kitchen, we have a lovely Square 3-piece place setting that includes the mug, bowl and dinner plate, and an equally striking five piece flatware set in Scarlet for one lucky winner.
