We Rock...and Cook!

Fall 2 Earth
Fall 2 Earth

I work with some incredibly cool people here! Ann Kelly in Kelly’s Kitchen so happy to tell you that one of my friends here at work had her recipe accepted on allrecipes.com! We both get their daily emails that always have some great recipes and ideas. But her husband pushed her just a little bit to submit her own recipe, and now she’s on the site for all to see. Sonya fronts Fall 2 Earth, with a great set list that spans modern rock, 90’s alternative rock and some of those tasty tunes from the 80’s and 90’s. She also makes this blog look better than I ever could…thank you! Check the band out, and yes, that’s them on stage.

Would you all do me big favor, and check out those cool family photos, especially the ones with the kids holding the ice cream cones? You know, where there’s more ice cream on their face and hands than anywhere else! Next week in Kelly’s Kitchen as we wind up National Ice Cream Month, we’ll award a free half gallon of Blue Bell ice cream every day to one especially great ice cream face; just send those to me at 949comments@coxtampa.com.

Did you know about the Florida Cottage Food Act? It’s officially state law and it’s a great opportunity to start that at-home business you’ve always dreamed of. But how, and where, do you begin? Right here, with Lynn Schultz, Economic Development Director for Hillsborough County BOCC. For more information, please log on to www.hillsboroughcounty.org/sbic and check into the many workshops that are rapidly filling up for small business entrepreneurs! There are a lot of things to take into consideration when starting any new, at home business and you’ll make fewer mistakes when you take advantage of the workshops to have all the information you’ll need. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Food Safety can also help – reach them at 1-850-245-5520, and online at www.freshfromflorida.com to get started.

I’d love to hear from some of you who are already taking advantage of this opportunity; tell me about your new business at 949comments@coxtampa.com, and we’ll share the news with the rest of Tampa Bay.

Words of Wisdom From Kelly’s Kitchen:

You shouldn't put a marshmallow in the microwave. Mary, age 12 (Someone should post this over the microwave in the break room here…)
