Two words to strike fear into even the most seasoned chef...Gordon Ramsay! Just kidding, I’m sure he’s really just a softie at heart, but if you’ve watched MasterChef you know he does not suffer culinary fools kindly. So imagine you’re in the finals of season one, and you drop your entree...and...you have seven minutes to whip up another one! But Whitney Miller did, winning season one of MasterChef, along with a quarter of million dollars, and now has published her first cookbook, "Modern Hospitality-Simple Recipes with Southern Charm." And Gordon Ramsay wrote the forward! It’s a beautiful book, and I can think of more than one person that I’ll be sending a copy to for Christmas this year. One of the nicest aspects of the book is the personal touches that Whitney gives us, with glimpses into her life and her family traditions, with recipes that go back four generations. But I think you’ll love how Whitney takes a new look at tradition and gives it a fresh face. I love the Tangerine Tea recipe, and that’s the one I’ll be taking along with me when I visit the family in Cleveland next month. Refreshing!
